SHINE Technologies is seeking a Senior IT Support Specialist at SHINE Technologies is responsible for improving desktop hardware and software processes and supporting critical business strategies. This role involves managing the development, installation, vendor selection, maintenance, and repair of desktop equipment. The Senior IT Support Specialist ensures that client specifications are met and that desktop systems operate efficiently and effectively.
This position is based onsite at our Janesville, Wisconsin office. Candidates must be able to work in person during standard business hours.
The base salary range for this position is $60,000 -$75,000 plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities of the Senior IT Support Specialist include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the development and installation of desktop hardware and software.
- Coordinate with vendors for the selection, procurement, and maintenance of desktop equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance and repair of desktop systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Analyze and improve desktop hardware and software processes to enhance efficiency and user experience.
- Support critical business strategies by ensuring reliable and effective desktop systems.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate desktop systems with broader IT infrastructure.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for desktop-related issues.
- Document processes, procedures, and configurations related to desktop systems.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in desktop hardware and software.
- Support and manage desktop virtualization environments and disk imaging processes to streamline deployment and maintenance.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Information Technology or related field with relevant experience required, bachelorβs degree preferred.
- Proven experience in managing desktop hardware and software processes.
- Strong knowledge of desktop systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Experience in vendor management and procurement of IT equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are a plus.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Requires frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.
- Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 40 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
- Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicantβs ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicantβs eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
