Reporting to: Director of Project Controls

Your role in the mission:

The Project Analyst will play a critical role in supporting Type One Energy's mission by ensuring projects are effectively planned, monitored, and delivered. The successful candidate will contribute across cost management, scheduling, risk tracking, reporting, and tool/process improvements to support overall project success.

The candidate will utilize foundational project management skills, including scheduling, risk management, and tool configuration, to support overall project success.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in project management, and reporting EVM metrics with a focus on driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement across multiple projects.

Project Planning & Scheduling – Develop and maintain project schedules (MS Project/Primavera), ensuring alignment of milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.

Performance Tracking & Reporting –Monitor project health using schedule, cost, risk, and EVM metrics; prepare dashboards and status reports.

Risk & Issue Management – Maintain registers, tracking issues, and monitor mitigation plans.

Financial & Cost Management – Support budget development, forecasts, cost analysis.

Process & Tool Improvement – Implement automation, dashboards, and workflow enhancements.

Collaboration – Partner with Finance, PMs, and Engineering teams to ensure cross function alignment.

What you’ll need:

  • Project Management Foundations: 2+ years in project planning, scheduling, and analysis, preferably in the energy, engineering, or high-technology sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Project Management, Data Science, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, EVP) is a plus.
  • Project Controls and Analysis Skill: experience in cost tracking, EVM, data visualization, performance dashboards.
  • Project Scheduling: Experience developing and maintaining project schedules using tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6. Ability to align schedules with project budgets and EVM metrics.
  • Risk Management: Understanding of risk management processes, supporting risk registers and mitigation planning.
  • Advanced Excel: Expertise in Excel for financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization.
  • Automation Tools: Experience with Microsoft Power Automate, PowerApps, or workflow automation is a plus.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex project data to diverse stakeholders. Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
