Reporting to: HR Business Partner

Your role in the mission:

Type One Energy are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our HR function. In this role, you will serve as a central point of contact for employees, managers, and external partners, ensuring seamless execution of HR operations and programs across the employee lifecycle. This is a hands-on position with broad responsibilities spanning onboarding, engagement, talent acquisition, learning and development, HR systems, policy management, and compliance.

The HR Generalist will play a critical role in shaping the employee experience—from the moment a new hire joins the company, through their career development, to their successful transition upon exit. You will partner closely with office managers, business leaders, and the HR team to implement initiatives that foster engagement, strengthen organizational culture, and drive operational excellence.

Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including coordination with HRIS systems, IT, and office managers.
  • Lead employee orientation programs to ensure a positive new hire experience.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Partner with office managers to support engagement initiatives.
  • Assist in the development and execution of employee recognition programs.

Learning & Development

  • Manage and maintain the learning catalog; assign and track employee trainings.
  • Support performance management processes and tools.

Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Lead in resume screening, candidate assessments, and interview coordination.
  • Provide back-up support for applicant tracking system (ATS) management.
  • Support recruiting efforts through conference participation and career fairs.

HR Systems & Data Management

  • Admin for HRIS Platforms.
  • Ensure data accuracy and compliance in HR systems.
  • Serve as back-up for payroll processing.

Special Projects and Initiatives

  • Assist in building and implementing a global internship and co-op program.
  • Policy and handbook development and maintenance.
  • Contribute to additional HR projects as assigned.
  • Support partnerships with external organizations
  • Partner with the DEIA Committee to drive HR-related diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility programs.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and PEO Models (Payworks, TriNet, or similar platforms).
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws and compliance requirements (I-9, payroll, policies).
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborative, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
