About Helion

We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.

Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). We are now operating Polaris, our next prototype on the path to the world's first fusion power plant.

This is a pivotal time to join Helion. You will tackle real-world challenges with a team that prizes urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to delivering hard truths – values essential to achieving what no one has before. Together, we will change the future of energy, because the world can't wait.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will scale Helion’s enterprise applications to support the deployment of fusion energy. This first-of-its-kind role offers cross-functional collaboration with teams across the company. You will own and build high-impact systems that power functions from finance to manufacturing, without layers of product management. You will report to the VP of Engineering, and this is an onsite role located at our Everett, WA office.

You Will:

  • Identify and solve operational pain points across finance, engineering, supply chain, inventory, and production
  • Design full-stack solutions, including architecture, data models, APIs, UIs, and tech stack decisions
  • Define and establish development standards for reliability, scalability, and future team growth
  • Build scalable systems to support operational growth from millions of parts per year to millions per day
  • Implement logging, metrics, and automated testing to increase visibility and enable smarter decisions
  • Own and evolve a strategic roadmap that accelerates operations, reduces costs, and minimizes vendor reliance

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience building high-scale, reliable production systems
  • Full-stack experience with a track record of choosing and applying the right tools for the job
  • Ability to convert ambiguous problems into tested, maintainable code
  • Fast, iterative, and data-driven development approach
