Contract: Permanent, full time

Reporting to: CAD Integration Manager

Your role in the mission:

The primary responsibility of this CAD Designer role is to create the computer aided modeling required to enable the design and fabrication of our fusion device facilities. You will work closely with groups dedicated to the stellarator itself and with groups tasked to design the facilities to house the stellarator and its support systems. Responsibilities will include:

• Translate design requirements into an integrated 3D configuration model.

• Create facility layouts for fusion power plants, including building structures and support systems.

• Develop accurate CAD models based on given specifications.

• Convert CAD models into technical drawings for fabrication, create accurate and concise callouts for fabrication specifications, and help facilitate the exchange of data between design organizations.

• Communicate effectively whether by verbal conversations, writing, or the use of images.

What you’ll need:

• Advanced proficiency in the following Autodesk CAD packages: Civil 3D, Advance Steel or Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D (including P&ID), AutoCAD Electrical, & Navisworks Manage

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in CAD design of facilities and layouts

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience with BIM modeling

• Expertise in piping, HVAC, structural and civil design

• Very strong communication skills

• Ability to work cooperatively within a team

• Desired - Siemens NX and Teamcenter experience

• Desired – Autodesk ReCap Pro

• Desired - AA or BA in a related design field, or equivalent work experience.
