The Role

We're looking for a Project Quality Engineer who thrives on being at the heart of complex, high-impact projects. This isn't a box-ticking role—it's about being the trusted quality partner that project teams rely on to deliver excellence across engineering, production, and supplier partnerships.

You'll work across multiple cutting-edge projects, embedding quality into every stage from design through to production. You'll challenge the status quo, balance compliance with commercial needs, and be the go-to expert who empowers teams to deliver world-class results.

You do not need to be an expert in quality inspection, we can support you in developing this area. However, if you have a passion for quality, energized by problem-solving, and ready to support projects that are genuinely changing the world, this role is for you.

What You'll Be Doing

Driving Quality Across Projects:

  • Partner with project teams to develop and implement robust Project Quality Plans
  • Work alongside Engineering and Production to establish effective Control Plans
  • Facilitate and drive PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) reviews to identify and mitigate risks early
  • Be the quality advocate at project meetings—helping teams navigate challenges and make informed decisions

Supporting Operational Excellence:

  • Act as the manufacturing and operations go-to for quality support, guidance, and direction
  • Validate production records are created, completed, and correctly stored to maintain traceability
  • Develop your skills in inspection techniques and equipment to provide cover and support when needed
  • Support the management of equipment calibration to ensure measurement accuracy

Supplier & Audit Management:

  • Support the onboarding and ongoing maintenance of suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Contribute to internal and external audit programs including CAPA, SCAR, and NCR investigations
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and communicate quality requirements with confidence

Continuous Improvement:

  • Challenge 'business as usual' and bring fresh thinking to quality processes
  • Bring people along on the quality journey—fostering a culture of excellence across the business

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience in a Quality or Project Execution role within a project based role/team or business
  • Proven ability to write and manage plans, ensuring all elements are delivered
  • Excellent communication skills—you can deliver detailed technical information to all levels, from shop floor to senior leadership
  • Team player with strong conflict resilience and the ability to influence and inspire others
  • Detail-oriented with a pragmatic approach to balancing compliance with business needs
  • Willingness to learn inspection techniques using handheld and CMM devices to provide support and cover when required

Desirable:

  • Hands-on experience deploying quality tools: APQP, PPAP, 8D, PFMEAs, Lean, 5S, Root Cause Analysis, DMAIC
  • Lead Auditor qualification in Quality (ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, or similar)
  • Technical background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering (or similar)
  • Experience working in advanced manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or energy sectors
  •  Salary dependent on skills and experience and will be discussed from the outset
