Salary: $25 p/h
Contract start and duration: As soon as possible, 12-week contract
Reporting to: Mechanical Engineer II
Type One Energy Group, Inc. is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team and contribute to the design and development of fusion stellarator magnets and systems. This internship offers hands-on experience in mechanical design, prototyping, and assembly processes. You will work closely with engineers and technicians to support development and test initiatives.
What you will do:
Assist in creating and updating CAD models and engineering drawings for mechanical components and assemblies.
Support design reviews, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with engineering standards.
Participate in prototype development, including assembly and testing of components and systems.
What you will need:
Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study.
Software skills such as experience using NX or other CAD software.
Ability to receive guidance, work independently, and contribute to a team.
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for prototyping.
Ability to perform rigorous measurements with attention to sources of error.
Strong safety mindset
Familiarity with superconducting materials is not required, but knowledge of or eagerness to learn about superconductivity and cryogenic materials testing will be helpful.
