Your role in the mission:
We are seeking a highly motivated Full Stack Software Engineer who is passionate about integrating data with emerging technologies to drive innovation.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of software engineering, data systems, and modern cloud technologies, and who wants to build solutions that empower both science and engineering teams across the organization
Design & Build End-to-End Solutions:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, high-performance full stack applications that address complex business and scientific needs.
Collaborate Across Teams:
Work closely with scientists, engineers, and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions that accelerate research and development.
Stay Ahead of Tech Trends:
Actively explore, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices, continuously improving system performance, maintainability, and developer experience.
Programming & Development:
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, SQL, HTML/CSS, and Go.
Database & Data Engineering:
Design and maintain data models and integrations across relational (RDBMS) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases. Develop tools and pipelines to gather, analyze, and synthesize large, diverse data sets, delivering insights through visualizations and reports.
Cloud & DevOps Enablement:
Utilize cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, GitHub workflows) to ensure robust and reliable deployments.
System Troubleshooting & Optimization: Proactively identify and resolve technical issues, conduct performance tuning, and optimize applications for scalability and reliability.
Lifecycle Ownership: Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle—including planning, requirements gathering, architecture, coding, testing, and deployment.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of hands-on experience in at least one of the following languages: JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, SQL, or Go.
2+ years of experience with relational (SQL) or NoSQL database technologies.
Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile development practices.
Familiarity with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, version control (GitHub), and automated testing.
Proven experience developing, debugging, and maintaining production-grade applications in a professional environment.
Comfortable working in Linux-based environments and with command-line tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
Experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud).
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
